I ordered this, recieved it pretty quickly, and then today I've just had a call asking me if i liked it, and would I like another 12 issues for £1 total, no obligation. I've liked the Economist for years, so had no problem saying yes :D

    Hi

What a bargain. That's really good value.

thanks, ordered, but i just know they are going to ring me and ask me about a longer subscription given it was compulsory to leave a telephone number. i always say to them "contact me by email or don't bother"!

I took the free copy and then got a call offering me a three month subscription for £1. I took it as I occasionally buy the Economist and it was too good an offer to miss. I have since cancelled the direct debit with the bank thought.

I did the 3 month trial too but there is such a lot of reading in it that I fell behind pretty quickly and gave up.

I like The Week but it's just too expensive at the standard subscription price.
  • From week to week, we cover pretty much everything under the sun (and if you include our Science section, some things well beyond it). If you are a curious and open-minded person who wants to know more and sharpen your thinking, The Economist may just be for you.
