I have frozen elderberries before and they were fine. I too have picked rosehips this weekend, but lacking time at the moment I have "topped and tailed" them and froze those - don't know how well they will fare yet as haven't done this before but I can't see why it won't be ok. Again with hawthornes - can't see any reason why they wouldn't be ok.0

You can freeze them all without any problem. I did last year after I picked an entire hedgerow, went away for a couple of days and then had to sling it as it was covered in mold. I felt so guilty! Froze the next lot - rosehips and sloes, didn`t have any elderberries - and they are now jelly and gin respectively.0

ok so you think i could do this now ? 3 days after ?0

Tip them into a sink full of cold water (not altogether, I mean in their separate types). Swirl them round a bit. Use your fingers to scoop them up into a colander. You`ll be able to pick out any that have gone a bit manky.
If you`ve got a salad spinner, dry them off in that. If not, blot them with a clean teatowel. They should be fine to freeze after that.0 -
shall do that now cheers!0
