Rateable value after home improvements

Hello everyone,

I've just had some home improvements done (converting integrated garage into living room/utility room). Would anyone know if this would affect the rateable value of the house? My rates bill has the abbreviations GOH

G Garden
H House
O Out office (shed, garage, greenhouse and so on)

Regards Paul

Your best bet to contact the VLA and ask to speak to the domestic valuer for whatever area you live in. They might be so busy with preparations for the Capital Valuation System they may not have time or resources to visit and assess ;)
