Haggle at CURRYS - spot end of line codes!

I've just been on the telephone to Currys Customer Services asking if a product I want is in stock at my local store.

I then asked about chances of knocking the price down to match their internet exclusive price if I took out insurance on the item (see Martins previous posts on the subject). I was told as the price ends in 0.98p (i.e. in this case £199.98) this meant that the item is due to be discontinued and this is the last price that will be available before the items are removed from the store shelves.

He then said that it is down to local store decision whether they make any further reductions but implied that the store may just want to shift the stock.

So if you're looking to haggle down a bargain - look for the prices ending in 98p.
