So because of the actions of a minority the majority suffer.
Unfortunately this is the same in all walks of life.
When the ban was brought in our office had 3 or 4 security guards to cover two floors which meant that they were thinly stretched. Also what a lot of people don't realise is that they are limited in what they can actually do, they aren't allowed to touch customers so they can't physically remove them from the premises and unfortunately a small minority seem to think that it's good sport to cause trouble in the JC.0 -
The Security Guard at "my" JCP does everything - indeed, he is sometime the only person manning the "desk". He grunts "Signing?" and holds out his hand, then walks off with the book to put it into someones In-tray.
Meantime, no-one else can get any kind of assistance [although most are referred to the BDC anyway] as there is no-one at the "desk". When he returns to the desk, a "customer" may have a more tricky question or have an appointment that needs checking on a list - all of this takes time and is done by the Security Guard. He also does not have very pleasant manner - is no great shakes himself but looks at and speaks to everyone (inlcuding middle-aged professionals) as though they are something he is having difficulty scraping off his shoe.
Recently, he started to check his watch as someone arived to sign - if they are more than 5 minutes early, they are turned away. He also has the power to turn people away if they are ?? (never clear how many) minutes late.
All this is while the office is heaving with staff (one of whom is so fat that she is wedged into her chair - and is also a very unpleasant person as well) and equally teeming with "customers". It is all kinds of wrong.0 -
i was right all along......today i went into my local jcp to take the feedback leaflet.......guess what the receptionist--- (another jcp staff) didn't think that they had one....not to mention wheather it existed.was asked why i wanted the leaflet,i said i wanted make a complaint.was told to just write in,addressing it the local JCP.well i already had that letter in my bag,so took it to hand in,at that time the lady at the desk says to me she can't take in complaint letters,i have to post it to them!!!!!!!! :rotfl:
I feel very disappointed and decided it is not worth my time complaining at all.:o0 -

But that's what they want to (not) happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If the leaflet isn't in evidence there - and it should be - then this is sloppy on their part and double-sloppy that the receptionist (there is one?) didn't know of it. All of that smacks of the incompetence that seems to prevail.
You should send your letter - ring them first to find out a name. In the letter you could now add that the usual complant/suggestion route is failing and that in itself is a complaint.
I bet they wouldn't be so difficult if they were getting a compliment!0 -
If you post the name of the Jobcentre I can find out the name of the Manager for you"You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Thanks sammyjammy i have now posted my complaint even though i decided that it was waste of my time. i addressed it the local JCP and added what happened today as well as previous episodes.I am not sure wheather this is going to help at all,but i do feel upset and disappointed by the whole affair. JSA and benefits are a mystrey to everyone, but having gross incompetence is intolerable.
thanks everyone for input.0 -
