Agree entirely - potentially more confusing than helpful to merge them.

If merging then the older entries need to be removed to prevent confusion.

It's a good idea to get hold of the PDFs of events for your area in advance as the website has a habit of going down - or you can request from the (one) lady at the end of the phone by email

There is a Scottish version called Doors Open Day, every weekend in Scotland in September different areas have things open for free which are not normally open (or not normally free, or some special events etc).
