Not sure why a moderator/board guide decided to merge all the different years in to one mega-thread given it's different dates each year and the attractions list is different from previous years. I think it will just confuse for people to see previous year's dates and attractions in the same thread as the current year. I can see numerous differences between the 2013 openings and the 2012 openings posted by sarah1972 above.
Agree entirely - potentially more confusing than helpful to merge them.
If merging then the older entries need to be removed to prevent confusion.

It's a good idea to get hold of the PDFs of events for your area in advance as the website has a habit of going down - or you can request from the (one) lady at the end of the phone by email0

There is a Scottish version called Doors Open Day, every weekend in Scotland in September different areas have things open for free which are not normally open (or not normally free, or some special events etc).
