We are getting married on a sunday to keep costs down and have booked the church, but the vicar said £600 with everthing included, ahh! next time i see her i will find out exactly whats included and cuts some things out!
also where can i get a wedding dress with sleeves?? i am very petite and i would like to have 3/4 length sleeves maybe lace with embroidery?

  • Hi,

have you tried preloved or ebay for your dress? On ebay, if you search for 'wedding dress and your size' and then filter by distance - if you see anything you like you should be able to contact the seller first and try before you buy - this is what I did and got a real bargain - a dress that there is no way I could have afforded new and to be honest it was dry-cleaned and you can't tell it's been worn.

Winter gowns should be coming out now too, so check out bridal shop clearance rails for something with sleeves - or if you try on something you like - ask if it can be altered to include sleeves.

I'm getting my vases from good-ole Ikea, check out Home Bargains too for water pearls etc. Floralights, not sure, again, check out ebay and wedding website forums like Confetti and youandyourwedding have 'for sale' boards that are worth checking out to see what new brides are selling.

    Good luck!
  • Hi there, I would really reccommend looking for the things you want on Ebay, I have saved a fortune!

For your dress try Landy or Milly, look for styles you like and then email pics and get quotes from then!

You can easily do your own flowers and Sarah's flowers is very good for ready made silk bouquets.

You can easily do your own invites, I did mine and it came to about £10, everyone says how good they are.

There are lots of tips on this wedding board, get a lovely cuppa and some biscuits and have a good trawl though! HTH Tiger xxx
