Personal budget sheet help and question about if income changes?

Hi all,

I am helping someone fill in a monthy budget sheet to send to a finance company and a credit card company, as advised by the debtline people.

Basically, the only income is a disability living allowance, however, a motability one may be approved soon as well, therefore giving an extra £160 a month, with a further posibsility of the interest being paid on the mortgage too.

The two debts are wanting montly re-payments which just are impossible, one £75 and the other £150 in round figures.

First question, what is the average, or should I say best or reasonable monthly clothing outgoing per month for a couple? I cant seem to see this online anywhere.

Its not that we are trying to add things up to leave nothing left to pay the creditors, but i guess the least possible the better!

Also, how do you stand for example if the sheet was sent off and agreed to have interest frozen and pay say £10 a month to each, and then the extra benefit kicks in along with the mortgage help, i guess you are supposed to inform them? but can they actually find out if you dont tell them?!

Any info or advice much appreciated as not done this before!

Thanks!

DLA should not be included as income on a SOA & dont let creditors tell you otherwise.
You could maybe allow £30 a month for clothing.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oh right thanks

Ive just looked at this again and it is actually Employment and Support Allowance he is currrently getting, that should be included as income?

Was the £30 clothing a month for one or two people by the way?

E&SA would be included as income.

  • Thanks again for your help :)

Once a payment plan is agreed and in place, for example the monthly gas and electric is currently lower than it has been, so if it goes back up and nothing is spare, what happens then?

Further to this i just found out the c/card was taken out before 2007, I keep hearing these adverts on the radio saying there is a chance they could be wiped, could this be the case?
