    Your Uni might even have its own hairdressing salon - where they give cheap haircuts to students.

    Keeping a spending diary might help as it will show you where you are spending money. £100 for groceries, magazines etc is a high for one person and you should be able to halve this. Cook from scratch, take packed lunches to University (I know how they charge students in the canteens - its not cheap), you can still have something leftover for a magazine.

    Is your housemate a student too? You might be entitled to exemption from council tax if so. If not, you might still be entitled to a reduction. the CAB will be able to advise.

    Thats 25% savings included! :eek: its ridiculous isnt it? No she's not a student otherwise we would get it free :rolleyes:
