Italian Wedding Planners

Can anyone recommend a wedding planner in Italy? We've looked at Federica at "The Italian Wedding Event" and she seems great but we've no way of knowing whether she's genuine or not. Does anyone have any experience with this, or any other wedding planner, and how did you know that they were genuine before parting with your cash?

I cannot recommend a wedding planner in Italy at all unfortunately. Here in the UK it is easier as most wedding planners have a professional qualification and logos etc will appear on their websites. You are unlikely to be ripped off by UK planners.
My friend who got married earlier this year booked to use a wedding planner who claimed to specialise in Italian weddings and parted with £4K and ended up doing the work herself (this was before she knew that I was half way through studying to be a professional planner). This person didnt know about the essential paper work and the fact that Nulla Osta's have a lifespan of 3 months (the Nulla Osta was needed as she was marrying a divorced chap). I know that my friend in the end had help from me and from the hotel receptionist over in Amalfi.
Sometimes you are taking a risk when you choose a planner abroad - I know that when my cousin got married in Hawaii last year his fiancee found their planner off the internet and she told me who they used - all I could think was god help them if their celebrant decided to burst into song because he couldnt carry a tune in a bucket:eek: (sometimes the internet can be a wonderful thing).0
