Amount left after debt repayments....... 128.5

If the OD is going up each month then this money is going somewhere.

Start a spending diary to see what you realy spend money on.

Have you looked at your travel arrangements,

Car and parking is costing a lot also cars are high risk for unplanned expences.

Getting a palce closer to work or using public transport so you can drop these would help if that is possible.

The amount left over (£128.50), I would put towards the overdraft or the credit card you have a balance on. Whichever has the highest rate of interest. Unfortunately, the loan will probably be a fixed repayment debt, so it's not like you'd be able to pay off chunks of the debt at any time.

You say that you end up getting further and further into your overdraft, in spite of the fact the SOA indicates you have spare cash. You may have missed something from there, or you may have underestimated one or two of your expenditures. In order to curb this, what I can suggest is to open a pre-pay debit card account (O2 Money Manager is a decent card), and credit that with the amount you'd need to fulfil your daily spending as per the SOA. That way, you'd be able to keep track of exactly how much you are spending, ensuring your overdrawn account has a sustainable balance, and there's no risk of you incurring any overdraft charges.

I bought an LG television from capital sound & vision through unbeatabl.co.uk website 4 years ago, and paid extra £219 for 5 years Accidental Damage Cover to guarantee to cover me a hassle for a breakdown.
The remote control dropped and its not working any more.

I have just learnt that " Unbeatable.co.uk changed hands and ceased to be a retail website in August 2005. Please contact Capital Sound and Vision's liquidators - BDO Stoy Hayward for purchases made from Unbeatable.co.uk. orking any more.
    I have learnt that " .

I have rang them and they cant help me.
Please can someone direct me to what to do.
    Thank you

Did you pay on credit card? If so, look at the claiming under section 75 article on this website.
  • Even if you pay for your car service in one go you need to budget for it monthly Otherwise the whole amount just comes out of 1 pay packet which isn't nice especially if it's £200+.
Debt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000
DEBT FREE SINCE APRIL 2008!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!

I forgot that I pay £25 a month for my Bank account which is Barclays Premier (got talked into that one). Also pay a Pension which is £37 per month which I forgot about as well. I probably spend about £10 a week on lunch at work as well

Consider the Barclays premier. Do you really need it? I always thought of it as an unnecessary expense in my opinion.

Thats £105 so another £23 somewhere.

What features of the premier account do you use, the big ones are FULL RAC europe cover and worldwide travel insurance, no need for either of those.

you should be able to drop back to a basic account but the OD limit/charges will change but should be cheaper than £25pm.
Typical rates are 9.9% for PL(over £1k) and 19.3% for free account

Basic car breakdown is <£50, but review the need for a car.

Make food for work out of your groceries.

I assume you use the Barclays life for the £1000 interest free overdraft. This is a bit of a false economy really. What I can suggest, is take advantage of Alliance & Leicester's Premier current account. Not only will you receive £100 for moving to them, but you may also get your full overdraft interest free for a year. You'll also be given annual european travel insurance free of charge. Furthermore, if you know someone else who banks with A&L, you'll get another £25 if they recommend you as a customer.

All in all, you could save around £425 in the first year by doing this if done correctly.

Wrong! First assist offer full breakdown cover for about £40 using a claimback scheme. You pay for your recovery, but you claim it back from First Assist. Think of it as breakdown insurance.
