Ground Coffee - sealed, but well past the date!

Hi there, I have just discovered a couple of tins of whittards flavoured coffee at the back of the cupboard. The best before date on them is May 2008  (told you it was the back!)
The packaging is a sealed foil package inside a tin, and they haven't been opened, but I'm aware that ground coffee has quite a short 'taste life'.
Do you reckon they would be worth drinking, or am I betteer to just chuck them away?
Any thoughts gratefully received!

Well I've just finished off a similarly packaged 250gms of ground coffee we bought on one of our hols in France some while back - BBE Feb 2003!
It wasn't as nice as the Columbian I now favour but it was OK for my wake up brew!

I have had off coffee before now, trust me, you will know if it is off. My bet would be that if the seal isn't broken, it won't be off.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

You could get a chocolate bath foam, mix in the coffee and then repackage to give all your friends some gorgeous mocha exfoliant shower foam for christmas!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
