Credit Card DDM's

I'm trying to find an easy way to cancel a DDM made to a company on line.
I have been trying to cancel, and am told this is not possible. It being European Law. Even if I cancel my card they will still pay it and ask me for the money. I have written and mailed the receiveing company many times they take no notice.

By DDM I take it you mean direct debit mandate?
Credit cards normally do not have direct debit but you can give a company a continuous payment authority. Records of these are not held by the credit card company so you have to cancel through the company you gave the authority.
If you have kept records of the correspondence that you sent the receiving company, have a word with Citizens Advice bureau or if the company is abroad telephone the fraud helpline at your credit card company for advice.

The alternative, but sneaky way to stop them (if they're not responding to your requests) is to stop the card, ie. contact the cc company and tell them it's been 'lost', they'll stop that card and then get a replacement out to you.

Tell the company who the DD is with that the card is no longer valid and that you want the payment stopped anyway. They then won't have valid card details for you - how can they still pay it and ask you for the money?

Martin has written some stuff on this on the site about CPA (continuous payment authority) so would advise having a read up about it too.
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18

    This will not work!!!
The continiuous authority will still be debited to new card as credit card company will have a link between old and new card.
