CCCS help

Hi everyone
I had my telephone interview with CCCS today after fretting about it for weeks. I went through my income and outgoings with the lady and worked out what was left to pay crediters (i can pay £270 a month on a debt of £39K which will take around 12 years on a debt managment plan). I'm fine with this - as i currently see it i've paid the minmium payments on cards for years and getting nowhere.
However once my cable and broadband 12 month contracts expire within the next 2 months, that'll be an extra £60 towards debt repayments. I'll also be looking to move into a shared house which will see a reduction in household bills etc so that'll be more money for repayments. I explained this and in a couple of months the CCCS lady said she'd phone and discuss to re-adjusting my crediter payment (i'm going to try for around £380-£400 a month when these things happen). This would reduce the repayment period to just over 8 years.
It all seemed so easy and there was only 1 thing she said crediters might query (that was going out money and gym membership). The lady said that she'd put half of this expense in with my food & housekeeping budget as this was fairly low.
I'm relieved at how it went but as a born worrier i can't help thinking if something might go wrong !! I'll be getting a pack from CCCS in the post detailing everything.
Does anyone know if crediters generally accept the payment proposed by CCCS ? I was told that they usually freeze interest once they know CCCS are involved as they've worked with CCCS for over 12 years.
Does this all seem quite right ?
Thanks for reading.

CCCS managed to get all my interest payments frozen on all of my creditors. They were brill, don't worry it'll be ok as you have them at the back of you and they are a force to be reckoned with. They also altered some of my payments round so creditors wouldn't query the amounts, not allot I'm talking £20 a month for beer for my son, not bad for a 22 year old.0

Thanks for your reply, i know CCCS are excellent from what i've read here.
The lady i spoke to said that repayments through them would start in June and in the meantime to make token payments to crediters of what i can afford. I'm just worried about what they'll say to this as i've been up to date until now with my repayments, but i'll just tell them i'm with CCCS and give them my reference number. Hopefully this'll be ok until repayments start!

to be honest im debt free now i did go through cccs to start with, then went solo i in general found some accepted the offers , others past to dca who would not and tried to put preasure on for me to pay more than i could afford some dca such as capquest/ rma ignored cccs and said they lived in fantasy land and they would get me to pay the debts in 12 months not a silly 6 years told me to get real . so i soon found out my problems had only just started so i stuck my heals in went it alone ignored most dca changed my number and cleared my debts in 3 years all in fact stopped interest once they had passed to a dca, so knuckle down and good luck and dont let them get you down0

Hi overspent.
Please don't worry about dealing with CCCS. I'm not saying it will be easy for the first few months and I would definitely get your number changed.
We have had a dreadful time since January but even HFC and GE Money have finally accepted offers from CCCS.
We are still waiting for RBOS to accept but at least we can answer the phone in peace.0 -
It's all a waiting game for us too now, my fiance is managing his debts with CCCS and all his creditors would have had proposal for payment by today.
We had a few issues with a Bank of Scotland debt because they told CCCS they had passed it to Blair, Oliver and Scott when they had actually passed it to Albion Collections.
I've got a good idea though about which of his creditors may not accept the offer of payment, but there is nothing he can do about it as he has no more money to be able to give0 -
Im with the ccs too and so farthey have been great. One of my debts has already been passed to a dca which were very understanding and exceted the ccs's offer of payment right away and one is in the process of been passed on. I am worried about this but they cant have what I havent got.
Good luck
