  • Hi Bounty

I dont think they way to go for you would be to ignore your debts. You may very well one day want to return to the UK.

In my opinion you would be better off arranging to reduce your DMP once you get settled. Is there any way you could offer your creditors a full & final settlement prior to leaving?

You can declare yourself bankrupt from abroad as long as you do it within 3 years of leaving the uk. For more info on that you should post on the Bankruptcy board

Is the boyfriend British or Egyptian?
  • With the greatest of respect, how long have you been with your boyfriend? I would just be very way of moving away from everything and everyone you know and putting a great finanicial and emotional risk on yourself. What if you split up in 6 months and are stuck in an unfamilar country?
