Can you freeze tortilla wraps

Does anyone know if you can.

I know you can freeze pitta bread succesfully. Can the same be applied to tortilla wraps, would I have to seperate them before freezing etc?

thank you in advance

Yes, you can - I do it all the time. And yes, you will need to separate them first if you won't want them all at once - it's utterly impossible to separate the flippin' things once they've been frozen (speaking from experience there, as you can probably tell!).

  • Yes they can be frozen, but make sure they are completely covered as they can go tough if exposed to frost. Oh, they often break in my freezer, bits off the sides are ok, but if they break into pieces, I use them in a kind of chili lasagne with layers of chili con carne, grated cheese and broken tortillas.

    It's only a game

  • Yes they can be frozen.

You only need to separate them first if you'd intend on using them separately later (iyswim)

Put in microwave for about 40 seconds to defrost and heat.

That sounds tasty - I'll be trying that one soon, I think!

  • Yea but they dont taste that good

I find there is no difference in taste when they have been frozen.

I don't usually separate mine before freezing, but you do then have to be careful when trying to separate after removing from freezer. I tend to make sure they hae fully defrosted before separating. Maybe freeze in batches of the amount you will use?

Oh and put on bottom of a drawer in the freezer so that they won't get bashed about when you are taking things in and out, and will remain intact.
