I got miss sold an endowment in 1985 and after a lot of trying to get compensation i had given up.Another company has offered to fight my case but wants £350 up front as a deposit and 16% of what i stand to gain which is around £6000 can anyone help as i don't know wether its a good thing or not

Be wary of doing this. Who sold the endowment? If an IFA, then forget it. Also, if you complained and it wasnt upheld and 6 months have passed, you cant have another go

just read your thread, my parents were also misold an endowment and they contacted one of the ads on tv called Vickers anderson consulting and you had to pay them £495 but if they didnt win then you got your money back. They contacted them and paid then in October , then in march they sent back some details by registered post and were told they would be contacted in 28days its now May and they have heard nothing. My dad then put the company name on the net for a search and omg came up on the watchdog site!!!!! They have changed adddress and phone numbers and when my dad calls no one answers so im going to give them a call in the morning and see if I get thru altho at the minute it doesnt look very good

Some firms are so bent that it beggars belief. I hope you get your money back - and I'm sure they will get into trouble one day, if they continue to rip people off like that.

NEVER pay money upfront to either a complaints handler or an endowment trading (TEP) company.

well surprise surprise phoned all 3 of vickers anderson consultings phone numbers and only one works and it goes to answer machine - Ive left 2 messages as has my dad but it doesnt look like they are likely to call back. Total nightmare now not sure what to do or where to go about it!!
