Pension credit vs. nursing care costs

This is perhaps not the right place for this thread but...

Does anyone know how much an elderly person in care is allowed to keep for essentials (bath and hair products, slippers, some clothes when needed, etc.) after paying for care from the pension credit of £114.05 per week?

Thnx.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

I think it is £18 per week if they are in a Care Home.

My friend is an auditor for the Local Authority and as such cheques the books of local authority homes and she know how much they are allowed to keep. I am seeing her tonight so will check with her and post again tomorrow.

My Dad is in a Nursing Home and I am sure his works out at £18 per week.

Found out about this. Mum is allowed £19.60 per week for her essentials. I suppose this is okay as dad buys her bath/shower stuff etc. and she does have a lot of clothes.
