  • Thanks guys,

This is all really good stuff. No I do not have an overdraft, thank god :)

I will start the diary, brilliant idea :)

With the internet, the liarary is a very good idea, but, is it such a good idea to do your internet banking on public computers? I am unsure on this, anyone advise???

I personally don't feel secure using a public computer for internet banking - and for me its important to have internet at home so I can keep on top of my finances, my bank accounts (and my addiction to MSE of course!).

Certainly worth considering using the library for anyone who cannot afford the internet at home but for me providing I make sure I'm on the cheapest deal I prefer to have it at home.

Regarding the spending diary some people like to use www.spendingdiary.com (I just stick with my notebook but the website suits some people better).

  • I quite smoking on the 1st of September and have been visiting my parents for the last week which has been pretty hard so I decided to use the demotivator:-

    £1,825.00 a_year_on.gif Cigarettes
    and_work.gif 4.7 weeks_to_pay.gif
    over_a_working.gif £82,125.00

Suddenly the thought of smoking has left my head entirely again :T

Hi How about each week paying your ciggie money off a debt. That way you will feel good about quitting and your debt will come down more quickly.
There is a great quit smoking thread on these forums with loads of help and advice.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)
  • £23.75p is right, when you first go on to monthly payments, you pay first 6mths at double,eg you pay for 1 yrs TV licence in 6mths.you then pay £11.something each month

So 12 payments you have payed fo 18ths tely and you are then always 6mths in front paying monthly

Ooo does that make sence to you? and WELL DONE to you Emmington keep up the good work
