Hi
If I am going to sign up to a loyalty scheme of either tesco clubcard or the nectar one - can anyone advise which one would be better for me investing my time and money in terms of reward for the amount of money spent to get a return on groceries in tesco or sainsburys stores?
Thanks

Tesco by a squillion miles but sell at double value or exchange for deals at 4 times value rather than spending vouchers in store. www.paidtoshop.co.uk is the site you need.0

Agree- Tesco wins hands down- even before the doubled the points allowance per pound spent.
Nectar pays double points per £1, but 500 points = £2.50
Tesco pays double points per £1, and 500 points = £5 or if you want, you can double it up so you get £10 worth of clothes, magazine subscriptions, health and beauty, toys....and there are various other deals that you can get £20 per 500 points.
Makes Sainsburys look like a joke!0 -
You can sign up to both, there's nothing stopping you from doing that.
Nectar points are available on a lot of internet shopping if you go through http://www.nectar.com/dynamic/estores/nectar/home0 -

That's my thoughts, sign to both and then you have plenty of options regardless of where you shop. I get points on my Tesco card from Eon, Expedia & Homebase area amongst many that give Nectar points.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Thanks very much for your help - i would like to whittle down my money saving admin for the time being so I'll go with Tesco0

I do both as well - I use Nectar purely for online shopping - amazon etc as BA Stores don't use them - I'm saving for an iron at the mo.
I use Tesco for the shopping and Eon, and then trade in for BA Miles which I only use for upgrades as if you use them for buying tickets, you might as well flush them down the loo. I also use BA Shopping for Ebay etc and am now up to over 100,000 miles - saving for upgrades to Oz!Noli nothis permittere te terere

Maybe I don't get this, but what admin are you talking about??
You know that all you do is to apply for the card and then carry it around with you, don't you....?
I also have both. And Boots as well. My Nectar is nearly not used, just Eon points go there and occassionaly when I am in town I go to Saisburys when it's close to where I am...
Also shop via them on Amazon, while I like to use Amazon for books etc I might as well get points from it..
Pitty of every point that goes to loss!0 -

God yes - I have just about every loyalty card out there - I have a House Of Fraser c/Card that I pay off as soon as I spend on it as I get the points on that.
The Boots card - just bought myself a lovely Babyliss hairdryer and still have points left for Xmas.
Waterstones card currently has over £20 worth on ready for Xmas.
Starbucks card is for the free shots and syrups - I load it up once a month, purely for the freebies - plus the odd mailshot they send for a free drink.
Every single airline I go with also has a scheme - KLM, Virgin and BA - I've got enough for flights with them all now:D
No extra work needed - just your memory;)Noli nothis permittere te terere

I have both Tesco and Nectar but only use the Nectar. Agreed the points arn't as good as Tesco, but I use Nectar for online shopping and collect points through doing surveys, I then use it for shopping at Argos at Christmas time along with any Argos vouchers collected through the year from other survey sites.2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

I have Tesco, Nectar, BHS, Boots and Waterstones. I would have had HMV if they hadn't tried to charge me £3 for it - really not worth it as rarely shop there.
No admin, simply carry the cards. Must have saved me a fortune over the years. My daughter is following suit, she is 19 and already has Boots, Nectar and Tesco! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
