Considering iva need advice

OUR DEBTS IN TOTAL ARE 100K ALL UNSECURED BETWEEN 8 COMPANIES AND I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY COMPANIES WITH VARIOUS FORMS OF ADVICE. BOTH MY WIFE AND I ARE SELF EMPLOYED WITH NEW JOBS WHICH WILL BRING IN ABOUT 5K PER MONTH BEFORE TAX YET OUR OVERHEADS ARE AROUND THE SAME FIGURE. HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH AN IVA AND ARE THEY A GOOD IDEA WITH THIS AMOUNT OF DEBT. THE ALTERNATIVE IS THE BIG "BK" BUT I FEEL WE CAN STAY CLEAR OF THIS AS WE NOW HAVE THIS INCOME COMING BACK IN. ALL OF THIS HAS HAPPENED AS WE LOST OUR BUSINESS IN MARCH THIS YEAR AND HAVE HAD TO FIND NEW JOBS.

Have you spoken to one of the free debt charities for advice or have they been commercial companies? If not then I'd suggest you speak to CCCS for free impartial advice before making your decisions - the people who have gone through an IVA will be more likely to advise you on the seperate IVA sub board which can be found under the bankruptcy board - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=159
