Thanks for the tip, I will give it a try and see what the mirror says but generally speaking that sort of look is not my style.

Lol ok. Ideally to pull this off you need very dark indigo denim, however I advise everyone to have at least one pair of these jeans as they're very flattering and can look very smart, useful if you're going out and don't want to wear a suit. Obviously it depends on your age :)

Hi sorry - my mum always called it wonder web - didn't occur to me that it might be called something else...

I'm sure I got my last lot from tesco???

Anywhere thatsells needelsand cotton should seel it - it's the stuff used to iron up hems.

it's a strip of lacey stuff that you use to bond 2 pieces of material together, like a hem or a patch, I've used it for hems lots oftimes and have used it to secure badges on things before, just tore to shape used a coouple of layers if I wanted a strong bond and ironed over.

Very simple, I'd recommend putting a clean teatowel over as u iron so as not to mark your trousers.

Also have you tried ebay-ing for the same trousers???

My ex used to do the same to his suit trousers.

I repeat the advice to get two pairs of trousers next time. Also, do you sit on a wheely chair at work? Stand up and sit down properly, instead of wriggling and wheeling and you'll reduce the wear.

I'm not convinced about the bondaweb-it's white and it stays white and you'll need lots of it if you don't want the worn through bit to flop and sag-you can't do just the edges. I think it might show.

A repair or dry cleaning shop might be able to do you a machine darn. It's not cheap or invisible (maybe ariound £30 now?), but cheaper than a new suit (or trousers). I had that done on a couple of pairs of my ex's trousers and even though I knew it was there, it wasn't visible when he was wearing them.

Thanks for that advice will bear it in mind if bondaweb doesn't live up to expectations.

Probably Wilkinsons will do it instore as well, have checked eBay and to get the exact same trousers in my size is not very likely, though I could find a close enough match but the high street is probably best for that.

Updated my eBay search 85 results now

    (Bondaweb,"wonder web",wonderweb,wundaweb,"wonder under",wonderunder)
  • Those trousers are too far gone to repair.
, other then buying two pairs of trousers next time.... what else could I do, could I patch before the damage gets that bad?

what size are you - if that's not too personal?

there are 16results when searching for next grey pinstripe mens suit.

    maybe one would fit?

you got a striped jacket - perfectly permissable to wear with plain trousers! If you really want to wear the matching trousers then just join up squares of similar material to trousers with iron on interlining - available from most supermarkets!
