Equifax, useless!

Could not decide which forum to post this in, so picked this one.

I had a default from 6 years ago when i was wreckless with money hit the 6 year mark on the 30th August. (Defaulted 30th August 2003)

31st August it dissappears of my experian credit report as it should :T

Equifax is a whole different story, its still showing now on the 6th September, which is really annoying , i've used their shabby online disbute form on the 31st August, no reply.

Equifax are also very naughty as its showing all my dad's credit agreements to me too!

Are Equifax normally this slow? Why can they not be more like Experian!!!

  • I had the same problem when my defaults were off my credit file after 6 years with Experian but it took about 2 weeks for the defaults to fall off with Equifax.

While you are waiting for your defaults to fall off with Equifax if you need credit only apply to companies that use Experian that what I did and was able to get credit while I was waiting for Equifax credit fille to clear.

    Good luck

Are you and your Dad financially associated? Do you have any joint credit agreements / joint financial products? Have you had any in the past? If you do not have any currently then you need to ask to be financially dis-associated.

They should make any correction with 28days, so as you have now entered a dispute it should be sorted fairly soon.

If you can its probably advisable to hold off applying for any credit until its been removed.

There is no financial association between me and my dad, i'll have to contact them about that too. It says his name on the agreements, yet down under my credit file.
