Sky TV / American Express deal

Hi,
American Express are offering a deal on new Sky TV subscriptions. You get three months for the price of one for your chosen package and also get a Sky+ box for £49.
Is this a good deal?
My partner wants to wait until August to get Sky, because I'm mostly interested in the football and there won't really be any until then. But I'm worried that there won't be a good offer then because lots of people only sign up to Sky for the football.
Cheers,
Ian
