Here we go
made redundant - 26k - 15 years
paid off credit card
have insurance for my mortgage, but as I slightly changed it and didnt notify the insurance, they may not pay out
mortgage left about 20k
mortgage taken out in 1989
Therefore
might pay off mortgage
saw previous posted link to DWP saying about deprevation of capital.
took a copy - as an image
says you will not be depriving if you
pay off debts - credit cards - mortgage
buy a car
go on holiday
will if you give money to your sister etc
my mate went along to the dole office and they told him to keep receipts etc
nothing like that said to me.
so
If I pay off my mortgage and they said i couldnt and wont back down about deprivation, - will be seeing my MP
apart from that
what can they do?
I wont be claiming for a mortgage - unless I leave a small amount outstanding - 3k etc
If they decline me, can I appeal again? or do I starve due to my action?
Anyone know where I can buy concrete advice on these matters
Thanks

Could you perhaps pay off your mortgage then try and get a part time job or Christmas temp job? Obviously I don't know your circumstances but could you then downsize to release equity and reduce outgoings such as fuel bills? If we didn't have a mortgage to cover it would open up so many job avenues as we wouldn't both require full time jobs with above min wage salaries, you now have so many options available to you.
Looking into the DWP options is of course a sensible thing to do but it should be very much "Plan B" given all the Christmas temp jobs about to come up. £26K could also be used to invest in a suitable franchise if you wished to generate your own job opportunities.0
