REMO - any experiences with USA?

HI - my ex lives in NY and owes thousands in maintenance arrears. I sent all the documents including various court orders off via my local court to Remo who sent the documents to NY at the end of March 09. Since then my local court have chased it for me but still no news. Does anyone have any experience with this and any idea how long it might take? Also, is there anything more I can do?
Thanks

Hi, I don't know about the US, but I'm currently in the same boat, with the exception that my court office didn't send my documents until almost 5 months after they said they did, so my case is really delayed! Good luck. Mine has now been confirmed that the other country has received the documents in July 09, so I'm hoping to get somewhere....eventually.0

Have posted on other REMO thread.First thing is locate the court dealing with the enforcement. Check the state rules as to enforcement. Get his address and SSN and check the REMO case number.Google the Deadbeat Parent Act. You can pursue matters yourself and the US courts seem to have powers that the UK courts don't but
If there is a grim determination to avoid the debt it can be done.
But first check the local enforcement rules and the Deadbeat Parent Act. Make sure you have an address. There are sites that can check addresses. A SSN is very important (but there are ways round it if the intention is not to pay) Once the arrears reach a certain level there are private agencies that will pursue the non-payer for a cut of the arrears
There are various sanctions that can smoke non payers out PM me if you want more info
