Stupid NI Banks AGAIN!!!

If you get paid in cash (which a lot of people do) the First Trust and Bank of Ireland will not let you open a current account.

Reason?

They have to SEE the money going through via BACS.

Pile of poo if you ask me.

And the BoI say their Basic Bank Account is for recipients of state benefits only and not for wages.

NOT ACCORDING TO THEIR WEBSITE!!

Didn't BBC Newsline approach the banks here and ask them to explain their high banking charges?

Newsline said that they would inform the viewers of any response/non-response from the banks.

Does anyone know what came out of it? I haven't watched Newsline in quite a while.

I've just been charged £4.50 by First Trust for a DD set-up ........... yet again .......... even though I'm on a graduate package (free banking). This is the 8th such occurence in the last 5 months. Maybe I should ask for a refund for all the phonecalls I have to make to them!!!!
