Ccj

I've got a CCJ on my file from 2002, which I wasn't aware of until I ordered my credit report the other day. I obviously was aware at the time, but when it came up on file, the court was one miles away where I was living at the time & I could only think of one CCJ i'd had there, which was paid by attachment of earnings. Anyway, I checked my wage slips & i'd paid about £380 into the CCJ, then it stopped. Far as I know, that was all I had to pay. The CCJ on file is for about £460, i'm sure it must be the same one, but it's not marked as paid and I can only see about £380 of payments on my wage slips. Would work stop paying early? I thought legally they had to pay it & we're a huge company. Also, if I contact them about it, what if they send in bailifffs? Is it best to wait for the CCCS on Monday

That's odd. I'm sorry that you haven't had a useful reply and I'm not sure that this is going to be one, but at least we can bump it up and see if anyone else can help.

Normally an attachment of earnings order continues until the debt is satisfied.

You could phone the court and ask if they have any information.

I'm surprised that you've not had any notification by post.

You're concerned about it still being on your credit report and what I'm not sure about is whether an unsatisfied ccj stays on your file indefinitely. I'm not sure that it does - National Debtline say

'County court judgments. These are deleted after 6 years from the date of the judgment.'

Unless this is causing a problem, I think I would probably leave it alone. But see what others think.
