Home Video VHS to DVD Conversion Service

I have thought of offering a local service in my area taking the customers family videos and transferring them to a DVD. I have all the equipment, does anyone have any experince or advice, I have not had any experience working from home, so its all new to me.

Have to disagree with the previous post. Yes it can be done but the vast majority of people would not have the time/inclination/know-how or equipment to do it themselves.

The problem is finding the customers in sufficient numbers and keeping the cost reasonable. You also have to think about what can go wrong, ie you lose/damage the only copy of whatever (before conversion).

The easiest way would be to work with a local shop that has plenty of customers through the door, ideally a photography type shop. Also check out how much places like Jessops charge for this service.

There were people doing this on ebay, but that means risking posting the tapes, some would think this too risky.

It can be done, but don`t expect to retire on the proceeds.
