£100 charge to find out if I can let my morgaged property!

C&G have told me that it will cost me £100 pounds to find out if it is OK to let my property!
If anyone has any insight into this (eg ways of getting around this) that would be great!
I am moving to Oxford in the summer and don't want to commit to buying yet as I have only just managed to get my kids into a decent school!
