Help me Divorse problems and debt

Options
Firstly im very sorry if this si in incorrect place to post this as its not directly money saving but were in need of urgent advice.
We have tried for a CAB or advice centre but where I am there isnt any.
To explain the situation 11 days ago my brother and his wife and kids were due to move house. On the day of the move it all fell through. The day after his wife uped and left taking his 2 kids with her. She also spend £2500 on his Barclaycard which she was a second user to and also the whole of their joint account and maxed out the overdraft coming to another £2500. This has left him totally pennyless. He is also jobless as he gave up the day before the move. Hes tried to get his job back but cant. He doesnt have any money for his bills or mortgage.
He brough his house 10 years ago and only his name is on the mortage. He married his wifr 2 years ago. The only assets he has is his house woth £100000 with a 35k mortgae on it. Shes after every penny she can out of him and is going to have the best lawer money can buy which I thinks pointless as all he has is his house and 3k of shares. Will she automatically be awarded half the house even though she has never worked and is named on the mortgage? Also to tide him over id like to buy his shares off of him. Im happy to give his2.5k which hes happy to take. Id pay him by cheque which will be paid inot his account which will clear off the overdraft on the account and give him a small amount to live on. Were thinking that if we do this and he gives me a reciept for the payment his ex wifes going to think that hes done it just as a way of keeping money from her which isnt true he needs the money to live on.
Can anyone please offer him any advice. Hes been trying to find work today and were sure he will have a job by Monday. Hes happy to support his kids through the CSA but would like his payments to be recored.
Is there anywhere online that we may be able to read up on this. Its just seams so unfair that she gets half the house when shes never worked towards it. Yes shes looked after their 2 children but shes never worked (yes I realise how hard it can be looking after kids)
The ex has now been rehoused by the council who in her own words are throwing money at her. Not bad as shes got 5k in the bank as well
Thanks and sorry its been so long

    Hello there

A lot of information in your post. I think your brother should go to CAB or get other professional advice (some bank acounts/insurances come with leal advice for example) a.s.a.p.

Divorces can be messy but hope things improve between them for the sake of the kids.

    Best wishes

The same thing happened to myh brother in law. My sister in law did all the same things, took both kids, cleaned him out, and emptied the bank account, she even tried to get hold of his £700 tax rebate. Their house was repossessed because they owed arrears on it and had an enormous mortgage so neither of them ended up with much money. However, later on she was left about £130,000 and she bought a house with it. She kept very quiet about this and he didnt find out until years later that he would have had a claim towards this money as they were still married but by the time he found out, it was too late and they are now divorced. At the time of the break-up he lost his temper and hit her and ended up serving a 4 year prison sentence, so tell your brother to be very careful with the way he deals with her.

My brother being very nice with her. He has no choice really as shes took the kids 50 miles away. She phoned him from her new mobile withholding the number telling him to drive and meet her last weekend which he did. He has no objections to supporting the kids and hed never hurt her.
Its just the shares situation thats bugging us. She cannot try and get what he hasnt got and all that he has got in these shares and the house. Surely not even the best solicitor money can buy as she said can get more from him than he has? Also will she be able to egt her divorse solicitor for free?
