It's that time of year again.
Quality Street, Roses, Heroes, Miniatures etc... All 2 for £10 in Tesco.
BUT have you seen the size of the tin? Even smaller than last year, only 900g or so. In a few years time the tins will be wafer thin.....
I remember getting 2.2kg in a tin....

I got some of these yesterday but checked the weight carefully. I ended up with the Quality Street as you got 1.1kg & the tin looked like it did last year (no idea what weight was in it last year unfortunately) I also got Celebrations as the kids love these, but the tin was a complete new design & seemed much smaller. Terrys chocolate orange was the smallest at 700g.0

These were priced at about £4.90 a tin in Asda for most of last christmas so i'm going to hold off for now0

Cadbury Heroes
Cadbury Roses Tin 975g Incl Wraps
Quality Street Tin 1.068kg Net Excl Wraps
The offers end on the 9th September, but I bet they'll be cheaper nearer Christmas0 -
They ended up £4.90 in Tesco last year too...because they went on a half price offer (as opposed to BOGOF) and then the VAT reduction took another wee bit off them. To be honest if you can keep them without eating them just now, they are probably just going to be same price as they will be later, unless you only need 1 tin.0

Yes here we go again supermarkets up to their devious tricks again.....same price and guess what smaller tins
:mad:0 -
To be fair, I think it's the manufacturers that make the tins smaller and not the supermarkets. It's a devious ploy by the manufacturers to make it seem as if they're not rising the prices, when effectively they are.0

The only snag is the Roses seem to sell out first and then you can't find any at any price.
I am away in USA this year and the Roses tins make great gifts. I just wanted larger tins 1.5kg not a paltry 975g!
Anyone seen a larger tin anywhere else?NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
hold fire - at one point last year the tins were 2 for £7 at ASDA. I remember because I never managed to get any, and am still regretting it. Also I did buy some earlier than Christmas and ended up eating them prematurely....0
