Well..it's been another few turbulent months is all I can say. Alot's happened. First the bad..
1) I again let down my guard and had a small(ish) lapse into online gambling again **sigh**. Back on board now though, the only slight silver lining is I caught myself quickly and actually didn't lose money.
2) My car went pop twice, totalling repairs of almost £3000
Followed by the goood...
1) I've paid off my car in it's entirity after 4 and a ahalf years! It's am inor victory but it feels great and frees up over £300 a month, i'll never be doing that again lol.
2) My debt (mainly due to paying off the car) has dropped to under 10 k properly for the first time I've ever known. Originally I had figures stating smaller numbers but this was excluding the things I'd been running from such as overdrafy, student loan etc. At last the proper all inclusive figure is under 10k and I'm happy
.
3) Because of the extra free cash from the car payments, i have alot to go towards overpayments whcih has taken a year!!! off my official DFD to 2012 and has gfiven me the chance (if I puit all of the extrea cash into overpaying) to have a new target DFD of next year's birthday in October
Anyways sorry to ramble, it just feels better getting that off my chest. Have a great weekend everyone

That's good news Bax - Seeing the debt reduce quicker and knowing you'll also be paying less interest is great motivation.
I had a wobble on the gambling front too - just plain greed so i'll need to watch that. Glad to hear it didn't cause too much damage and you're back on the path. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -
Hi Bax, well done on clearing off one debt, especially as it was a big monthly fee.
Good news on a new reduced DFD. Keep strict with yourself over the gambling, you can't change the past but can focus on your goals for the future and remember the damage it has caused you in the past.
Good luck moving on.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
