Any ideas on a good rate. I'm not sure whether this £4000 will be able to be paid back within a year or 3 years max. How should i go about finding a good place or does anybody know one? Thanks

You are probably better off borrowing £5000, and putting the extra £1000 in a high interest savings account! This is because most of the best buy tables use £5000 as the loan example.

I'd recommend looking at Egg. Not the lowest rate, but there are no early payment penalties, and you could take out the loan and immediately repay £1000 to reduce your interest bill.

    Good luck.
