I am absolutely blazing with capquest. I have just received a second letter from their solicitor side stating a doorstep recovery is being sent out. I pay my debts thorugh CCCS on the dot every month. If someone has the link to the OFT bit to report them on please will you post it. Many thanks.

Not a pleasant company to deal with I am afraid, I would get in contact with CCCS and let them know what is happening, they may be able to help out or advise on the best course of action0

barclaycard threatened to send doorstep recovery and i must have been in a really s**t mood that day because my reply was " if you send someone round then I'll sue them for trespassing, threatening behaviour and harrasment!" ,the stroppy cow of the other end of the phone seem to back down at that point .....
we havn't even enough income at the moment to do a DMP with CCCS , do not let them grind you down....__________________0 -

Thanks for the replies. I'm not afraid of Capquest as i know the law on debt management and consumer credit so i do know how far they can go and also I will gladly meet them in court if i have to as its on my side here not theirs. They best get in quick though as i'm about to move over to Northern Ireland to be with my partner, law is different over there regarding credit card debt etc. I do feel though that the more people who report this diabolical company to the OFT the better but i can't find the link, i'm obviously looking in the wrong place. they really do need to hve their license revoked. They even told me at one point that CCCS charge you for their service and are a very bad company to deal with, they wanted me to sign a DD mandate. What a load of sh%te. no way am i going to give them access to increase my payments at their will.0

That's really shocking, what a terrible company. My brother in law has got in a bit of a mess with Capquest and another DCA both claiming to be collecting the same debt0 -

If you want further information on Debt Collection Guidance try this link to the Office of Fair Trading http://www.oft.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/50F06527-9FC5-4610-B385-999D6E2A8950/0/oft664.pdf
The part to look through is PART II: THE NEW DEBT COLLECTION GUIDANCE section 2 "Unfair business practices"
These guidelines are set down by the OFT and each DCA has to adhere to them otherwise their licence to trade could be removed. NB these guidelines are only used for Debt Collection Agencies on debts where a default notice has been issued.
If you wish to make a complaint go on the OFT website and have a look how to do it https://www.oft.gov.ukI am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0 -
Make a direct complaint to Hampshire Trading Standards. They're investigating this company.
