Yup, looks like Brighthouse are HP...

Well, in that case, tell them where the ex is and let them take their goods back - why pay them any more money for goods you don't even have access to?

Hi there.
Just saw this thread so I thought I would stop by....
Brighthouse items are generally on a hire purchase arrangement. If the OP's not been able to keep to the payments, and are not willing to accept a reduced payment arrangement, they are likely to send their collectors to reclaim the goods.
They would normally sell the items at auction, take what they get off what is owed and then try to get her to come to an arrangement to pay the rest. However this tends to be a last resort, I'm suprised they've not agreed to the offer she's made if I'm honest.
The main issue is that the OP's ex has taken items that aren't his to take. Until the finance has been cleared, they are legally the property of Brighthouse. If they do come to collect the items, the issue is going to be that the items aren't there to take. I'm not too sure how they will react to this, I'd be inclined to suggest they will probably pursue the OP for the remaining balance plus any charges.
