Full Terms & Conditions
1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of
entry. By submitting an entry, all entrants are deemed to have
accepted these terms and conditions.
2. You will automatically be entered into the "Best Experience in the
World" promotion by logging onto the website at
www.islandreefjob.com
and completing the entry form with the
required information.3. Participants may enter once only. Tourism Queensland reserves the
right in its absolute discretion to disqualify:
(i) any entries that tamper with, or attempt to tamper with the entry
process;
(ii) any entries that Tourism Queensland considers manipulative,
unrepresentative, or disproportionate;
(iii) any individuals found entering who corrupt or affect, or attempt
to corrupt or affect, the administration, security, fairness or
proper conduct of the entry process.
4. Employees and Directors of Tourism Queensland, or agencies
associated with the promotion, and their immediate families, are
ineligible to enter the promotion. The promotion is open to all
nationalities.
5. All participants will be subscribed to receive email communications
from Tourism Queensland.
6. Participants will be entered into a random prize draw to win one major
prize, a holiday to the Islands of the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland
Australia for one winner and up to 3 travel companions. The total
holiday prize is valid for up to 4 people.
7. The winner will be selected by a random manual draw. The drawing of
the prize will be conducted at Tourism Queensland, 30 Makerston
Street, Brisbane on 9 October 2009 at 12.00am Universal Coordinated
Time (UTC), 10.00am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). The
name of the prize winner will be published on

immediately following the
draw. The prize winner will also be notified by email, sent within 2days after the draw. Should the prize winner be under the age of 18
years, the prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian.
8. The competition commences on 26 August 2009 at 12:00am UTC and
concludes on 7 October 2009 at 12.00am UTC.
9. The prize is for up to 4 people and includes:
•
Return international economy class airfares from the winner’s and
the winner’s travel companions nearest capital cities, to Brisbane,Australia.
•
Economy class airfares between Brisbane and other Queensland
destinations as specified in the finalised itinerary.•
Accommodation for the duration of the itinerary in minimum 3 star
accommodation. Accommodation will be booked as two twin sharerooms or apartments with separate bedding for 4 adults.
•
Transfers to and from places of accommodation.
•
Various day tours and activities.
•
Cash prize to a maximum of AUD$10,000 ($2,500 per person).
10. All expenses shall be responsibility of the prize winner and travelcompanions. The cash prize is intended to cover items of a personal
nature including but not limited to meals, spending money,
entertainment, phone calls, beverages, laundry, etc.
11. The prize must be taken over the period 11 November to 31
December. The prize winner may choose a holiday prize for the entire
period or any part of the period, provided that such period must be
continuous. The prize winner and each travel companion must be
present in Queensland for the entire period. Tourism Queensland will
prepare an itinerary based on the period chosen.
12. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
If the prize is not claimed within two weeks of the draw, a redraw of
the prize will take place on 23 October 2009.
13. Any costs relating to alterations to confirmed details, where applicable,
will be at the expense of the prize winner. This includes but is not
limited to changing dates of flights.
14. Travel insurance is not provided and Tourism Queensland recommends
the prize winner and all travel companions obtain comprehensive
travel insurance including medical coverage (at their own expense)
prior to travel.
15. Entrants must be eligible for a short term tourist visa to Australia. For
visa information visit
www.immi.gov.au/visitors/tourist. The prize
winner and travel companions must arrange and pay for their owntourist visa to Australia prior to travel. Tourism Queensland will not be
held responsible for any visas that are not approved prior to the travel
date resulting in inability to travel. Ineligibility to obtain a visa results
in cancellation of the prize and re-draw.
16. Tourism Queensland shall be entitled to cancel the holiday prize and
itinerary without notice should the prize winner or their travel
companions engage in any inappropriate, illegal or immoral behaviour,
use excessive alcohol, artificial stimulants or illegal drugs, or act in any
manner which brings Tourism Queensland or any person or
organisation involved in the promotion into public disrepute.
17. Each entrant releases and indemnifies Tourism Queensland against all
liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of acceptance of the prize or
participation in the promotion including (but not limited to) personal
injury and damage to property and whether direct or consequential,
foreseeable, due to some negligent act or omission or otherwise.
18. By accepting the prize, the winner and the winner’s travel companions
agree that Tourism Queensland may use their name, likeness,
appearance, voice and biographical information for its promotional and
publicity purposes.
19. The prize winner and his or her travel companions will be required to
undertake a series of promotional activities at the discretion of Tourism
Queensland including but not limited to:
•
Writing up to 5 combined guest blog entries that will appear on
Ben’s blog
www.islandreefjob.com. (approximately 200 words
and 5 photographs per entry).•
Meeting with Ben Southall, Island Caretaker and participating in
media interviews.The prize winner will be responsible for supplying required equipment
to undertake blog duties including camera, video camera and
computer. Tourism Queensland will not provide equipment for use by
the prize winner.
20. Tourism Queensland will own all intellectual property in reports, blogs,
photos and other material created and submitted to Tourism
Queensland by the prize winner and travel companions.
21. Tourism Queensland reserves the right to monitor and edit material
produced by the prize winner and travel companions in line with its
corporate communication and marketing guidelines.
22. Tourism Queensland’s decision concerning any aspect of this promotion
is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
