Insuring second car

We have just bought a second car. I contacted our existing insurers and they have just quoted for the second car which means we have two policies.
Is there a cheaper way than this i.e. one policy for both cars?

I believe Admiral do a "multi car" policy but there is no guarantee it could be cheaper to have one policy than two.
Plus if you have an accident then you've lost your only no claims.
If you stop your existing policies then check out the cancellation fees before you cancel.
This might be higher than you expect and make it not worthwhile.
So ask what it costs before cancelling.0 -
In the past we have had an Admiral Multicar Policy. We didn't have 2 cars on one policy, we had a seperate policy for each car.
In all the years we have had 2 cars we have found it's usually** cheaper to insure each car with a different co.
**not every year though, some years both cars are with the same co.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

I'm looking at getting a second car but unsure how to go about getting the best deal. Also, I have 8 yeards No Claims. If I get two separate policies, can I use my NCD for both policies?0 -

No, but some will offer a discount for another ploicy (e.g. Direct Line). You might be better to look out for multi-car policy."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

As missile said, you can't use one lot of NCD on 2 cars but if you insure both cars with the same co.....but not necessarily on a multicar policy.....most will usually mirror your NCD from one car onto the other as an introductory offer for the first year.
In your situation I would speak to co's about insuring both cars with them and see if they will do the mirroring NCD or use comparison sites and get quotes for each car seperately. Declare one car as having full NCD and the other car with none.
Then compare the prices and see what's best for you.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
