Nat West Step Account

I opened up a basic Nat West Step account when I took out a (now failed) IVA 2 years ago. The OR's clerk said that the OR is happy for me to keep using this in the meantime as there is no cheque book or overdraft etc, but I understand that when the OR inform them of my BR, which they will after my OR interview on 28th September, it is the bank who closes down the account, not necessarily the OR. Anyone found they can keep this account open? And by the way, you lot are keeping me sane. Was having some very dark thoughts a week ago, and I am starting to actually think I can get through this.... so thank you and best of luck to everyone

  • Hi, I have an advantage gold account with NW. When I was made BK on 12 June I informed NW straight away and they said it was fine they would just downgrade me to a step account when they had received notification from the OR. I'm still actually on an advantage gold account so I don't know when they are going to get round to changing it but they have assured me I am fine to keep it.

    xx
  • Hi

My step account is still open and I went BR in March. OR had no interest in it so I kept it open. Had no problem so far. It was opened about a year before my BR
