Having been made bankrupt my natwest account has been closed. I desparately need to open a bank account somewhere for my salary but have been turned down everywhere I have tried including the Co-op Cashcard and Barclays basic - Can anyone help. They won't even tell me why they have rejected me.

If you need a bank account for benefits you can open a post office account. I've never heard of Barclays declining a basic account - are you sure you asked for the correct type of account?

Hi i cannot tell you why they turned you down but i will add you could set up a post office account, or get hold of a credit report and see what that says then reapply to Barclays and co-op
