Question about jelly

might be a very sill question but you see all these jelly pots for the kids that you can buy in the supermarket, well can i make my own jelly at home like i do for dessert and put in a tupperware for my kids packed lunch or would it just melt by the time they got to eat it?

Thanks Angelrae

    Hi Angelraesunshine,

It's not a silly question. I do this in lunchboxes all the time. Just make the jelly up in the normal way then pour into tupperware. Once cooled they'll store in the fridge for a few days and they'll stay solid in the lunchbox.

  • You can but little pots in the baby section of a supermarket (ideal for weaning), they come with lids and are just the right size for a child's jelly.

I do this weekly and 1 batch makes 5 little jellies or more if I !!! some fruit to it too.
  • me too - and sometimes I add a bit of fruit too!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I used to take a jelly done like this, made at home with some fruit in, all the time when I worked. :) Its delightfully ridiculous to eat jelly at work :)
  • i do it for my lot. tescos had value round tubs that i bought very cheaply.

another jelly question.....i buy the sugar free stuff but i find this isnt as solid as the sugar jelly, is that normal? i still eat lol just wondered if it being runny is the norm for sugar free jelly?
  • ooh thats a fab idea. I'm off tomorrow to buy some pots
I'm trying so hard to be thrifty, but it doesn't come naturally. You lot are an inspiration!
