I recently bought a book for my S-I-L called "the contented baby" which had nap routines in it. I think there is another one called "The contented Toddler" too. I used Christopher Green's book "Toddler Taming" which had recommmended nap routines in it.
I never used to let mine sleep after 3 o'clock. If they did fall asleep I would wake them up and they were never to happy about that!
Good Luck

Hi SMF2 - my daughter is 18 weeks - a little off toddlerdom, I've heard of those books, so may try and get hold of a copy, although no idea when I'll be able to read it!
I've had a successful few days, managed to keep day to day spending down, I really need to start taking a drink out with me where ever I go as I'm always thirsty at the moment and am often buying a drink or two.
Moneywise I've been looking for car insurance for the new car, its a bit of a faff, but need to stop current car insurance on our little car which is in my name, swap to Mr Z, as he's never had car insurance it will be cheaper to get the little car in his name and then insure me, with my no claims on the new bigger car. I can't believe the difference in price.
Also made a couple more sales on ebay so transferred some paypal money into my bank.0 -
Oooops - 3 naps is fine then
Really would recommend "The Contented Baby" Gina Ford. It wasn't around "in my day" but really helps with scheduling naps, feeds etc....
Tiring isn't it? I remember that much
Well done on all your MF progress. 0 -

That's right smf, break their spirit while they're young :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I think I've been too much in birthday mindset recently - ie the phrase, it was my birthday I'll treat myself, seems to be coming up quite a bit.
On Friday I had good intentions and decided to meet a friend in the park instead of a coffee shop, however, the weather wasn't great and I needed to pop into the bank so we ended up in a coffee shop anyway. Treated myself, using the above phrase, to a sandwich, cake and drink. Although also to further reason this I had got up late as little miss Z didn't wake until 9am, so I thought I'd go with that, then had a phone call from my sister in law, so completely missed on breakfast and a drink, so I need need something.
I also paid in £170 in cheques in the bank which was birthday money and £160 cash, which was left over from the wii sale. This is all excellent, although see further down as this barely hit my account!
Also had to buy little miss Z some socks as I've never put her in them, but as it was colder on Friday her feet started going a funny colour, thought I'd better. Luckily I had a bit left on a mothercare gift card so didn't spend any hard cash.
For the weekend two of my friends came to stay and we picked up our new car. Am loving the new car, technically it's Mr Z, but as its 5dr and our other one is 3dr, its more little miss Z's as whoever is driving her around that day will be using that car.
On the Sunday went into town to buy some new work clothes as I'm back there part time in two weeks and I'm not sure I'll fit into much of my old stuff. I decided to use the money I mentioned above to buy the clothes. I've always found buying less but more expensive classic work clothes works out best and makes be feel more confident as generally the cuts work, especially with this extra weight I've got.
Lastly yesterday four ebay items sold and have all been paid for so I shall post today and remove paypal money. Total of all the sales was £30, so not bad.
Am now off to go swimming with little miss Z.0 -
Your weekend doesn't sound too extragivant (sp) to me Zeddy. You used a giftcard and spent some of your b-day money on clothes that you need, and like you said, your coffee shop treat was breakfast and lunch rolled into one!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Had a relatively quiet week.
Money highlight was on new car insurance, tried to go through quidco, but couldn't complete online as I wanted the insurance to start on that day, so the guy on the phone did me a discount of £65 when quidco was only £42.50. Then today have seen two emails from quidco saying it had tracked - so not sure what is happening their time will tell.
My parents came down yesterday for the day, which was lovely. It's always nice to have people willing to help with little miss Z, especially to hold her when I need to eat - its a luxury to me now to be able to eat two handed! They also brought with them lots of treats in the form of cheese and biscuits, my favourite food, chocolate, my second favourite food, wine, my favourite drink and some schlor, as I can't have too much wine at the moment. Also gave little miss Z a new toy, which will keep her occupied for ages.
Only one more week left at home looking after my baby, which is making me sad, but one the brightside am back at work only doing 3 days a week but back to full pay as opposed to SMP, which will be a massive difference and no childcare to pay as Mr Z will be at home the other 3 days, but it's still making me a bit sad. I will make the most of this week though and have lots of fun with her, hopefully the weather will be good and we can get out and about and I'm not going to worry about the cost of car parking or anything like that for this week.0
