Just wondering does anyone know of any nice B&Bs or guesthouses in Ballymena - towards Galgorm. My mate's wedding reception is in Galgorm Manor but there aren't any rooms left. I've looked on line but its very difficult to find anything that looks nice. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have no idea of prices, but Tullyglass and Leighmohr hotels (not sure of spelling there) are both only a couple of miles from Galgorm Manor, both on the Galgorm Road out of Ballymena.
If you are a non-drinker, then please ignore this and don't be offended by it! But if by any chance you plan on having a drink and will need a taxi back to where you are staying, I would suggest doing it well in advance, if the reception is on a Saturday. Even if you ring round the yellow pages on a Saturday afternoon looking for one for that evening, you are likely to be told they are all fully booked from about 9pm to 4am. Seems like you can only get a taxi if you 'know someone'.....0 -
the reception is on a friday - do you think we would have the same trouble with taxis then?DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I would guess that its not as bad as a Saturday but I would still recommend booking ahead, they can be tricky to get hold of in general !0

As regards to Taxi services, you DEFINATELY need to book in advance. I can recommend the following taxis from personal experience:
Arrows Taxis
Unit 4, Ardilaun House, Ballymena
028 2563 7711
E-Cabs
80b, Main St, Cullybackey, Ballymena
028 2588 0004
Bros Taxis
50 Hill Street ballymena
028 2564 2727 or 028 2564 7272
I have no affiliation to any of the above mentioned companies. I just happen to live locally.
If you get the chance while in galgorm Manor, nip into Gillies Bar downstairs. Very Nice

I love Gillies too, when you step into that wee cobbled street bit it reminds me of going to the folk museum when I was wee!. But I heard a rumour it had been shut down, or was being renovated or something.......Galgorm Manor has a flashy new website saying that its Northern Irelands premier spa hotel. When saw it I thought "oooh, how come I didn't hear about that?" and then when you read on it says its not opening until February 2007, so I wondered if they were renovating the whole place ?0

There is actually a very nice extension being put on. Apparently somewhere in the region of 100 extra bedrooms plus day spa facilities.
