Hi
What guide should I use for a valuation for my car to put down on the forms ?
I have looked at the Parkers online guide and there are 4 different prices to choose from Dealer, Private-good, Private-bad & part ex.
Which price does the OR go for in peoples experience ?
Thanks for your help.

Go for the lowest that you can get away with

I used this facility and I think I went for one of the lower figures and printed it out and put with my paperwork, the OR seemed to appreciate this effort

The OR would only get trade in or auction price, so go for the lower end.
If the car is in poor condition (tyre wear, scratches etc) don't be afraid to go a bit lower. Generally though, if the car is worth less than £2k you should be able to keep it as after selling costs etc, the OR won't be able to recover a significant enough amount for your creditors to make it worthwhile posessing it.
Good luck.

Hi Crowman19,
I had my interview on Wed and he asked where I got the valuation of my car from. I used Parkers Guide & went for the Private good, he said that this was spot on.BSC 289A life lived in fear is a life not living!Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
by the time all the fees have been added on the OR wont see more than 75% of the lowest valuation, if that.
collection fee
auction fee (£250+ to sell a £4000 car at BCA, and that would be a £5500 on a forecourt)
so garage price £5500, the OR would see £3000 if lucky0 -
