Old bank account resurfacing!

Hi everyone!
I used to post here when I was going through my bankruptcy in 2007, and wouldn't have got through it without you! But I can't remember my username from back then, so have come back as me!
I got a bit of a surprise through my letter box this morning, in the form of a Halifax bank statement. I was very confused, and then remembered that I did, long long ago, used to bank with them and clearly I never actually closed the account. The statement period is May 2005 onwards and is of course blank, apart from apparently I am 2p in debt to them
They don't appear to be worried about that though, because apparently I have an authorised overdraft facility of £650
Anyway, what I'm thinking is this... it would be kind of nice to have an ordinary proper bank account, and look, apparently I have one! And although I don't want the £650 debt, I do wonder whether if I dip into it from time to time and then pay it straight off, it would help with the credit file clean up? But if I get in touch and ask them for a new card, will they wake up and ask questions, maybe even credit check me? I don't really want to draw attention to myself and get a rejection, it's bad for the soul!

what ideally you need to do first is try & contact your OR who dealt with your case...IF they showed NO interest in the account then I cant see the problem myself...wether the bank lets you keep it is a different story..We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0

OK it wouldn't even have occured to me to speak to the OR about it.
Now I'm thinking I'll just carry on forgetting it existed because I have irrational fears that it isn't all over after all, and if I speak to the OR it will in some way come back to haunt me.
Probably for the best.0 -
Be careful with Halifax - they have a strict no BR rule.0
