BR yesterday, what happens to mobile phone?

Hi there
I was BR yesterday and one of the creditors I listed was O2. I was on contract with them and wanted out, so I listed them!
I have not used my phone since deciding to go BR, and I am currently using a spare phone we had (PAYG with Orange).
I would like to go onto this Tesco PAYG, where they triple your credit.....but I understand Tesco is part of O2?
Would I be ok to do this? Also, the phone I had on contract, would I still be able to keep this?
Many thanks

Firstly well done on yesterday...just read your last post!
Dont worry tesco are whats called a virtual operator...they only lease the airspace from o2 apart from that NOTHING to do with o2 at all so dont worry...just switch over to tesco & you'll be fine
now the handset...did it come with a contract & how long ago? doubtful o2 will ask for it back they didnt with mine...bear in mind as well if your keeping the handset to use tesco you "might" have to unlock the phone for use of their sim...although I have known o2 phones to take tesco sims oikWe all die. Thank you......certainly glad it's all over now :j(well, with the exception of the OR interview next Wednesday)
I was able to choose a new phone when decided to take out a contract (it was the first time I'd ever been on contract - always had PAYG). Contract was due to end in Oct '09 (and was an 18 month contract)

Great......I'll go and get a Tesco SIM today!
Lady from OR ranf yesterday afternoon.....sounds very nice and friendly....hope it lasts for next week
She said she will be sending me a letter stating what info I will need for when she calls back (do you know what this will include, I just thought I could make a start on getting it together)? Also said there will be a form that I need to have witnessed by friend/family?? Why is this? I was hoping nobody else would need to know?0 -
Usually 12mnths to 2yrs worth of bank statements....credit agreements....mortgage paperwork etc dont worry though if you dont have statements etc they can easily source themselves
not sure about the form that needs a witness....never did one with me the only forms I had to sign were to do with taxWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -
P.S
dont buy a sim from tesco they usually charge...IF you can wait a couple of days order one online for FREE

Thanks Phil
I will get my Tenancy Agreement out (as I rent, don't have a mortgage), statements for bank and c/cards I'd already got out, will now make sure I've got all the creditors info together.
I will do as you suggested re the SIM
Thanks again
