Bad debts!!!

My mum is in debt and is struggling to cope. But i have no idea were to start. She had her house reprosessed last year and the money left they gave to the people that she owed money too but now we don't know who has the money and im not sure how to find out etc. Also in finding out who she owes money too i dont know were to start with this either please help

    If there are organisations that think your mum owes them money, they'll write to her.

    If she needs help, I'd suggest CCCS as a first port of call

    If she had a mortgage, the bank probably took the money for the amount owed. They should be able to tell you exactly what happened.

    If she owes other creditors money, they will probably get in touch with her. She could try to view her credit file, but this would make the creditors aware of where she now is and may start all the debt collection procedure. Just make sure she is prepared for that if she decides she wants to get this sorted.

    She should also speak to one of the free debt charities - Payplan, CCCS or possibly even citizens advice.
