SOA - please check (court tomorrow!)

  • Travel insurance would come under work expenses so they may allow it but I guess I'll know for sure after seeing the OR.
  • Is there a limit on travel expenses? Am having to meet more clients at the moment and suspect this will increase while business is so slow so my travel costs will rise if this is the case.
  • And do I include the holiday funds on my BR form (under other essential payments - it doesn't seem an essential...) or would this be included with the OR only?

Thanks for all the help! Stupidly stressed today while I get the forms finalised for court tomorrow... :(

Do you not get re-imbursed for business travel?

No - I'm self-employed so claim it on my tax return instead.
  • Does anyone know if I include other expenses not listed, on the BR forms (dry cleaning, medical etc)?

Or are these to be given to the OR instead?

Just a quickie as I have to do the kids tea.

All the extra things go under essential payments, you should get a drop down box to write them in and yes a holiday is an essential payment :)

I didn't think I'd be allowed holiday funds? Would also like to put travel insurance in as i sometimes have to travel for work, but not sure anyone will give me insurance once BR.

You should be able to get a combined household and annual travel insurance policy;)
I took out one with co-op whilst BR, so yes, you will be able to get insurance.

If your travel expenses are regular and you are self employed shouldn't they come out off your business costs before your calculate your salary?

Yes! Can't think why I haven't calculated it like that!! After all, its how I calculate my tax.

    Thanks :)
