is debt collection possible via standing order?

Hi
Switching income and DDs over to new account at the moment, in preparation for closing NatWest account, as, when the interest charges again rise soon, it'll be too difficult to manage financially. Don't know if this seems a ridiculously obvious question, but I've never dealt with a debt collection company before, and wanted to ask if it is possible to set up a standing order in order to make the payments.
Many thanks, Cat

You can make payments through Transcash at the post office. It's more expensive, but you don't want to share your account details with bailiffs/DCAsYou can always get more with a kind word and a 2-by-4 than with just a kind word.0

It depends on the DCA you are trying to work with, some will send you payment books / giro slips and you will have to pay these over the counter at your bank / post office. These may attract a charge for doing this.
Some DCA's will allow you to set up a standing order. To do this you have to ask them for their bank details so that you pay them out of your bank account. This does not involve you giving them your bank details
I think Skint1 may have been thinking about direct debits. This is where you have to give out your bank details. This is not advisable.
Hope this helpsI am a debt counsellor working in the voluntary sector - we don't charge our clients for the work we do!0
