There may be issues of your fathers equity in the property. This may be in the hands of the Official Reciever. Tread carefully, find out all the facts, go to CAB to seek where else to go to and what to find out.

It's the OP#s mothers partner who is bankcrupt not his dad who wants cash for the house.
As I said earlier, solicitors first, financial advice later. There's no point even speculating over the financial implications until you have had the correct legal advice and your mother has made an informed decision.I am a Mortgage Adviser

I'd agree about solicitors
I deal with existing mortgages and deal with plenty of TOMP applications (Transfer of Mortgaged property) - but I always stress to them about having legal advice. They need a solicitor anyhow0
